Frequently asked questions about traveling to Egypt
We have gathered the questions we hear most before a trip to Egypt. If anything is still unclear, message us on WhatsApp and we will answer right away.
Is it safe to travel to Egypt?
Yes. Egypt's tourist destinations (Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, the Nile cruises and the Red Sea) are safe and welcome millions of travelers every year. You are always with our guide and have local support from start to finish. We cover this in detail in our guide on whether Egypt is safe to visit.
Do I need a visa to enter Egypt?
Yes, most travelers need a tourist visa, which you can arrange on arrival at the airport or online as an e-visa before you fly. The process is simple and we help you with all of it. Check the requirements in our guide to the Egypt visa.
What is the best time of year to visit Egypt?
The most pleasant season runs from October to April, with mild temperatures that are ideal for visiting the temples and sailing the Nile. Summer is hotter but also cheaper. We break it down month by month in the best time to visit Egypt.
What is included in your Egypt packages?
Our Egypt tour packages include accommodation, transfers, an English-speaking Egyptologist guide, monument entrance fees and, depending on the program, the Nile cruise and domestic flights. Everything is organized so all you have to do is enjoy it.
Do the guides speak English?
Yes. All our guides are Egyptologists who speak English, so you will follow every story and every detail of Ancient Egypt without a language barrier.
How do I book, and how does payment work?
It is simple: message us on WhatsApp with your dates and preferences, we put together a personalized quote with no obligation, and once you are happy with it you secure your place with a deposit. The rest is paid later, you never cover the full amount upfront. There is no payment on the website.
Can I customize the itinerary?
Of course. We design every trip around you: number of days, pace, hotel level, excursions and experiences. Tell us what you are looking for and we will tailor it to you and your budget.
How many days do I need to see Egypt?
With 7 or 8 days you see the essentials: Cairo and a Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan. With 10 to 12 days you can add Abu Simbel, the Red Sea, or more time in each place. Take a look at our day-by-day itineraries to get an idea.
Do I need vaccinations or travel insurance?
There are no mandatory vaccines for most travelers, but it is always worth checking with your doctor. We do recommend taking out travel insurance. You will find the details in our guide to vaccinations for Egypt.
What should I pack?
Light, comfortable clothing, something warm for the evenings and the air-conditioned temples, comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses and strong sun protection. You will find the full list in what to pack for Egypt.
