Three nights in Luxor are enough to watch the 13:02 totality (10:02 UTC) without rushing, see the essentials of Thebes and fly home the next day. This is the short version of our eclipse trip, made for people who cannot be away for a week.

You land on Saturday 31 July, watch the eclipse on Monday 2 and leave on Tuesday 3. Three nights, one hotel and no repacking.
It slots in as the Luxor stop of a longer trip. You can arrive from Cairo or move on to a cruise. We quote that on WhatsApp.
You want Dendera, a felucca ride and one slower day. It is on the 4-night trip with Dendera.
From
US$2,390
per person in a double room
Reference price for stays that include the nights of 1 and 2 August 2027, valid for requests received up to 15 January 2027. We confirm availability in writing on WhatsApp before we ask for any deposit.
The prices compare like this: this version from US$2,390 and the 4-night one from US$3,120. The difference is one hotel night, one guided day, Dendera and the felucca.
| Day | Date | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Saturday 31 July | Arrival, private transfer to the hotel and a rest. In the evening, a short walk with the guide through Luxor Temple lit up. |
| 2 | Sunday 1 August | A west bank morning: Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. From 12:00, hotel and rest. |
| 3 | Monday 2 August | Eclipse. Karnak first thing if normal hours hold, a cool hotel until 11:00 and the viewing spot at 11:30. The partial phase starts at 11:40, totality runs 13:02 to 13:08 and the partial phase ends at 14:26. |
| 4 | Tuesday 3 August | Breakfast, check-out and a private transfer to the airport or station. |

The order bends to your flight. If you land in the afternoon, the Luxor Temple walk moves to Sunday evening.
Three hotel nights in a double room with breakfast, the private transfers, the English-speaking Egyptologist on all three visits and the entry fees for those sites. Add one pair of ISO 12312-2:2015 glasses per traveler, from a maker on the American Astronomical Society list, and the eclipse-day kit: water, shade and chairs, with a second spot as a fallback.
Left out are the international flight (we do not sell them), the flight or train to Luxor, the visa, insurance, tips, any meal other than breakfast, a single room, tombs with a separate ticket and the hot air balloon.
It is a reference price with three review dates: 15 January, 1 April and 1 June 2027. It can rise only on those dates and only for new requests. Once you hold a written confirmation and have paid the deposit, yours does not change.
You arrive on Saturday 31 July and leave on Tuesday 3 August. That leaves a whole spare day before the eclipse: if a flight runs late, you do not lose Monday. From Cairo, Luxor is about an hour by air, and the train takes around ten hours. For airlines and how to book, see domestic flights in Egypt.
We do not sell or book international flights. You buy yours and send us the itinerary, and we organize everything that happens inside Egypt.
There are no official viewing sites or special hours yet, and we will not invent them. What we put in writing in your confirmation is a Luxor spot with open sky, shade and water, plus a second one in case access changes.
On the sky: August in Luxor is usually clear, but dust, haze or thin cloud can spoil part of totality, and nobody controls that. Money is not returned for cloud; the trip goes ahead.
The date can be changed at no cost up to two months before departure. The eclipse, though, is a single day, 2 August 2027, so another date would be another trip, without the eclipse. Payments and conditions are on how to book the eclipse trip. To choose where to sleep, see where to watch the eclipse in Egypt.
Message us with your dates and party size. We confirm availability in writing before we ask for any deposit.
